Frolick. Book Review: Hunger Games

Hunger Games
by Suzanne Collins

An "OMG, Must READ!!"
Hunger Games is about Katniss and she is a hunter. Hunters are not supposed to be hunters and she should not go beyond the fence, but she's a smart girl, shes strong... but maybe not strong enough. The Hunger Games is the country's new reality show that everyone is forced to see, kids fighting eachother to live, and only one will leave the arena alive. Katniss plays through holding both a good deck in hand and a good head on her shoulders. Hunger Games have started, fight if you wish to live.

I like this because you finally have a female quest hero book. meaning a female HP or PJatO.

Pickling Cucumbers. Book Review: Firegirl

by Tony Abbott

Firegirl will warm your heart and, thankfully, without burning it to ashes. Tom is a boy with a family that is rather normal and is recieving a private school education. Catholic schools are usually where you go to stay away from the kids with bad family backgrounds but his school got the wrong memo. Class elections are coming up and a new girl has joined the class, but she is badly burned. After things finally go good for her and Tom is having fun, she has to leave. Just the two weeks with JESSICA there changed Tom's life.

Screech. Book Review: Flipped

By Wendelin Van Draanen

Flipped keeps a ready sucked into its pages and bound to its characters by making them so real. A boy, Bruce, and a girl, Julianna, take turns telling the intertwined lives they live. Julianna is an outgoing girl that just doesn't keep her opinions to herself and Bruce is a boy that hides away everything he thinks. Its a drama that will make you smile and cry all at the same time.

Murisaki. Review: Red Pyramid

I love the Characters, the Kids Sadie and Carter, really make the story pop out of the pages so that it comes to be so life-like you lose the reality of this world for a while.

Two kids, siblings, watch as their dad sinks into a solid ground in a glowing casket; things could only get better right? Wrong. The Kids are sucked into a world that lives on the silver-line of the current reality, The world of the gods. The Egyption gods have been disconnected from the human magicians for a long time, it's up to these two, that naturally have the connections that the House has been trying to abolish for many years now, to bring the two types of beings to terms again. Long Live King Horus, if he lives long enough to become king.

Author Review: Andrew Clements

This will probably be one of the few Author Reviews I will ever do, only because I usually don't like every single one of the books a specific author writes/wrote.

Andrew Clements
He keeps his stories believable. He avoids most cliches and gives you multi-dimensional characters and ones that have a realistic life, ideas and motives. He gives characters that you can connect with but also stay afar from.

Books he's written include
A Week in the Woods
The Landry News
The Janitor's Boy
The School Story
Room One
The Last Holiday Concert

I love Louis Sachar's quirky series. I think it provides a good laugh when you need one,

It's hard to explain, let's just say that I would fit in with them very well, and if you've seen my other blog you would probably know what they mean by STRANGER.
